C.A.R.S. Bowling Fundraiser - October 4th

C.A.R.S. Racing For A Cause hosted their 6th Annual Bowl-a-raiser at Boardwalk Bowling on October 4th. Dylan fielded a team of 5 bowlers to help support CARS kids. Michael, Dylan's dad, bowls probably once a year (at this event) and he racked up the high score in the male category when he bowled 5 strikes in a row. We all had a lot of fun and raised money doing it to. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Rick Bristol put on another great event, raising over $6,800 for Maci, Lucas and Skyla. It was an honor to be a part.

Sunoco 100 at Auburndale Speedway - October 10th

Dylan was running 3rd in points in this series and the team had worked extremely hard to get the car ready for another 100 lap race at Auburndale Speedway. It was Dylan's birthday weekend and he was going to celebrate with a good solid race. Dylan qualified 5th out of 14 cars. He had a solid car. In Dylan's words, it was probably the best the car has ever been. Even though Chad Pierce, crew chief, wasn't able to join the team for the race, we knew he had prepared the car to be at its peak and Travis Roland stepped in for the night. We were all looking forward to putting in on the track and seeing what it could do in the 100 lap race. Dylan started in the 5th position. He had a strong run al l night. But a botched restart by the #10 car collected Dylan, who was restarting 5th, and it put the nose of his car into #30 ending the night with un-repairable damage. It was not the finish anybody on the team was looking for, but especially Dylan. He was his most disappointed that his race ended under those circumstances as he had an extremely fast car and was wheeling it with skill. To have his race end with such disappointment, will only fuel him for the next race at New Smyrna Speedway for the Governor's Cup in November. Amid the disappointing ending, we all still celebrated Dylan's 18th birthday in style. We were happy to have Joey & Jessica Coulter join us in our pits for Dylan's celebration. The team will be getting some private practice sessions in at New Smyrna Speedway to test and tune the car getting it ready for the Governor's Cup race weekend.

Dylan's older brother, Brandon, took to the track for the first time ever that night. Brandon drove his #53 Simpson bomber in th e bomber class 25 lap race. Brandon had particular goals for that race and he accomplished them. Brandon gained seat time while learning the track and the car. It was an added bonus that both boys were racing on Dylan's birthday weekend. Dylan wasn't only a driver that night; he was Brandon's crew chief too.

C.A.R.S. Gator's Dockside Fundraiser - October 15th

The 7th Dylan Martin's C.A.R.S. Kids fundraiser was held October 15th at Gator's Dockside - Highland City, Lakeland. Although Dylan was unable to attend, as he was traveling to Charlotte, NC, Kim Scheffler put on another amazing event. The amount of Raffle Prizes that are donated each month for CARS is incredible. The local businesses have really stepped up to support these families.

We can't thank you all enough for your generous donations and we hope to have a total raised shortly so we can share. The Charity 200 race is approaching and we have one more fundraiser to hit the goal of $10,000 raised for the CARS kids and with the efforts of so many, the goal is just around the corner.

Grace Lutheran Fall Carnival - October 16th

Dylan Martin Racing helped to support Grace Lutheran's Fall Carnival on October 16th. We sponsored the Ticket Booth and provided a Raffle Prize that included a personal lunch with Dylan. We are so excited for Vicki Holley who had the winning bid for the Raffle Prize. Thank you Donna Fellows for the opportunity to be involved in the event. We hope the kids all had a great time.

Upcoming Events

Halloween Harvest October 29th - bring the kids and family out to Downtown Auburndale this Thursday from 5:30pm - 8:30pm. Come get an autograph and picture with Dylan. He will be passing out candy, hero cards and coloring sheets; a fun and safe place to bring the kids/family to enjoy the holiday.

Next Race: November 13th-15th // New Smyrna Speedway

50th Annual Florida Governor's Cup 200

As always, we want to thank all of our sponsors without who we would not be able to pursue this incredible journey. To Chad Pierce Motorsports for keeping the car fast and rubber side down, and all the family and friends that support this team in every way.
