The DMR Team Came, Saw and Conquered!

If you were not at Desoto Speedway this past Saturday night, you missed the race of the season. High truck count, we had it! Door to door racing, we had it! Going three wide, we had it! A great finish in front of a stellar crowd, we definitely had it! The bad weather that was to threaten the race stayed away. It was a hot one but not nearly as hot as it was going to get in the 50 lap Joey Coulter’s Fellow Truck Brokers Race. Desoto seems to pull all the best of the best drivers out for their races. This one would be no different. The team arrived around 1pm to see that the pits were almost already full. A good sign that there is going to be some great racing that night. As a driver or a spectator, any race you watch that has a full field of cars or trucks in it, is without a doubt going to be exciting. As Chad Pierce, Dylan’s crew chief, made a few adjustments to his truck, it was time to see the #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck hit the asphalt. This black beauty was sporting two new sponsors on it. Click Effects has come aboard for the remainder of the season (full press release on that to come out soon) and Turner Tree & Landscaping helped out with tires. As everyone in racing knows, if it wasn’t for the people that believe in you and step forward to help out, not many would race. But thanks to all Dylan’s sponsors and partners, not only did Dylan race…he dominated. Practice was good. Good enough that one of the top contenders in the series walked away from watching Dylan take some laps shaking his head. This kid was on fire. The best combination in racing is when you have a crew chief that can set your truck up to go left and stick and then a driver that trust the truck to drive it into the corner knowing this. And that my friends, we had. By qualifying time, Dylan was confident he had a top 3 truck. As the #7 was released out of the infield onto the track, Dylan was on it. From the get go, he lit the tires up and off he went. His first lap was a 16.404 second lap. This was a pretty quick time but as Dylan took the white flag he tightened his grip on the wheel and drove his truck off into that turn even deeper. When the checkered flag dropped, Dylan would have only missed the pole by .008 seconds. That is crazy. You can’t even blink your eyes that fast. His fast time was 16.340. He would have to settle for second. Desoto9-13 233-1The series draws a pill for an inversion to make the racing more exciting. A number 7 was drawn (Dylan’s lucky number). With this, he would be starting 6th, third row outside. As all nineteen trucks lined up on the front stretch, a couple kids from the grandstand give those famous words in racing, “Drivers start your engines”! As Dylan hit his ignition button, he heard Chad say, “Ok buddy, scuff them tires in, be smooth for the first 25 laps, you got this”. As the flagman dropped the green flag, Dylan was ready. He was on the bumper of the truck in front of him and tight down on the truck to his inside. He wasn’t giving up anything. On the first lap he has an opening to get down to the inside to be in 6th. A couple laps later, the #36 tries Dylan on the outside but he can’t make his truck work up there. So on lap 4, Dylan is in a solid 6th position. The next lap, Dylan starts working the #09 for position. He is able to get the truck on the inside in turn 2 to take over 5th. Dylan has just run a 16.63 second lap. He needs some quick laps to be able to run down the lead pack. The top 4 trucks are running side by side. He is driving his truck hard into the turns, he clicks off another quick one, 16.58. Lap 7, the first caution of the night comes out for the #50 who is up in the wall in turn 1 after getting into it with the #41 truck. The #50 goes to the pits which will put Dylan restarting in 4th. One lap later, the next caution drops for the #99 truck that spins in turn 1 & 2. As the field lines back up, #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck is restarting 3rd due to the #41 going to the pits with a flat tire. They get the green and the top 4 trucks run door to door for a lap before they drop into single file. Dylan is running in 3rd but he is all over the #37. He is racing hard but being patient and waiting for the opportunity to make his move. Lap 11, caution out for the #84 that spins in turn 4. When the yellow came out, Dylan was all over the rear bumper of the #37 and had put some room between himself and the 4th place truck of #36. The #37 truck is given a warning for jumping the start. So they go green to have the caution come right back out for the #37 white truck who spins in turn 3. It will be a complete restart again. They take the green and the leaders are side by side, Dylan lays down a 16.60 lap, these guys are on the move. Dylan is right on the leader’s bumper. This intense racing goes on for a couple laps. Lap 16, the #37 loses the lead to #59 and Dylan is right there to take the 2nd spot. But unfortunately the #09 spins in 3 &4 to bring out the yellow. The restart will be #7 in third with #59 on the pole. Dylan gets a great restart. He runs a 16.87 second lap. As they go into turn 1 again, the #36 is on the outside of Dylan but gets crazy high and Dylan secures his third place. Dylan is driving his truck great through the corners. He is tapping that brake to set the truck and then letting it roll through the corners. It looks as if it is on rails. Lap 18, another caution for the white #37 as it spins again in 4. Dylan is still in third. Going into turn 2 though Dylan gets a great run and is able to get under #59 to take 2nd place. Lap 20, Dylan is running down the leader. He puts down a quick time of 16.61. Chad comes across the radio, “Dylan, stay with him, you got him”. Dylan is all over the leader. Chad then tells him to run the whole track. #41 is now on the rear bumper of Dylan. He tries to make a move on Dylan in turn 2 by getting him sideways, but Dylan is on top of his game tonight. He catches it and motors on. The next lap we see another caution, lap 27. The #5 truck spun out in the front stretch. Dylan was fighting for first when this happened. The caution laps give Dylan a chance to cool down his tires. Dylan is normally pretty quiet on the radio, but he comes across and says, “If the #41 would just follow me, we can get the #37”. As the field lines back up, Dylan is starting second, outside pole on Lap 27. The kid is fired up, adrenaline is rushing and he jumps the restart. The caution comes back out for a complete restart. He takes a deep breath, grips the wheel tighter and the green flag drops again. He is door to door with the leader. Down the back stretch they go, literally side by side. But the outside groove is working for Dylan as he drives his truck off in there. He can’t hold anything back now, he has to trust his truck and let it go. The truck sticks, he gains some momentum going through 3 & 4 and as they cross the start/finish line he leads the lap by inches. As they go off into turn 1 again, #7 is not giving anything up. He runs his line hard and smooth, gaining even more when they cross in front of the flag stand again. He has lead the last two laps on the outside groove. The #37 is fighting hard to keep his pace but Dylan’s truck is just to hooked up and the next lap, Dylan passes to complete the lead. Lap 33, Dylan is leading the field and putting distance between him and second place as second and third start battling for position. He runs some consistent laps, 16.86 and then 16.90. Chad tells him, “Nice and smooth, easy on the throttle and let her roll”. By lap 38, Dylan now has two truck lengths on second. The #99 gets the move over flag as Dylan, the leader passes him. The kid is how they say…checking out. He continues to pull away from the field. Lap 44, he laps the #51 truck and then #50. The next lap, Dylan goes high around the lapped truck of #84. Two laps left to go and he passes the #09. The white flag drops, the crowd is on their feet. As the checkered flag flies, it is the #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck with the WIN! This 16 year old drove that race with veteran skills and had a crew behind him that gave him a truck to win with. Great team effort by all of them. As Dylan crawls out of his truck, he is all smiles. He thanks the fans for coming out and for his family and sponsors for believing in him. He has just conquered Desoto Super Speedway. After clearing his truck through post-race inspection, he heads over to the grandstands. He takes some time to personally thank the fans for coming out and supporting their local short track. He gets a lot of congratulations and of course the common question of “how old are you”? He smiles for the picture requests and signs all the hero cards as he hands them out. Rick Anges, Desoto Speedway announcer commented this, “Dylan has come a long way in a short time. He proved tonight that he can run with the best of them by taking the win over a strong field of trucks. This young man has the patience and persistence to go a long way in this sport.” This would have been the perfect ending to a great night but it still wasn’t quite over. Dylan then went for his interview for the “Turn Five Racing Show”. They talked about his exciting win and what it feels like to race against some of the best racers out there. The host of the show, Jake Wilson closed it with this, “This is the kids that does it right. Win, lose or however he does out there, he is still passing out hero cards and signing autographs for the kids. You want to look at a perfect example of how to do things in racing, look right here (as he points to Dylan) this is the example you want to look at. Congratulations again Dylan, look forward to seeing you out here again”. To watch the video of Dylan’s interview go to this link and start watching at 12:20 minutes, to watch the recap of the race forward to 22:00 minutes into the show…click on http://youtu.be/oc1LLQBBOWI Dylan’s next race will be at Auburndale Speedway on September 27th. He is currently 5th in Points for the season, only 8 points out of 4th (he missed the first two races). Curing Cancer Charity Challange

Amazing what happens when a few good people have a vision. Four years ago the Fellows family decided to find a way to make hitting a little white ball into money to help cure cancer. This year 144 registered golfers did just that. But these golfers realized immediately this would be like no other 18 holes of golf they had ever played. Sitting out by the driving range were two Pro Trucks that Fellows Trucking sponsors. Dylan Martin, the 16 year old hot shoe out of Lakeland, is the driver of the black #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck. He was all smiles as he signed hero cards and handed out coloring sheets. He even was asked to sign a young boy’s shirt. Dylan’s PR Manager, Kim Scheffler even had her Pro Truck on display. The Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Fishing Tournament sponsored her in the 8th Annual Joey Coulter Charity 200 Race Weekend back in December. If that wasn’t enough to surprise you then after leaving the 9th hole, the golfers drove by an all pink 18 wheeler. You cannot miss this coming down the road. Fellows Trucking pulled out all the stops to raise as much money and awareness for cancer as they possibly could. "Our Curing Cancer Charity Challenge golf tournament presented by Davenport Fights Back was a huge success this year," said tournament co-coordinator Donna Fellows. "Dylan Martin Racing was our top sponsor this year, and we can't thank them enough for their support. They also brought out the No. 7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge truck, which races in the Joey Coulter Florida Pro-Truck Series, out to put on display between the putting green and driving range, which was a huge hit with our participants as well. Thanks to the help of our participants and wonderful sponsors like Dylan Martin Racing, we were able to donate $19,000 to the American Cancer Society for this past weekend's efforts. Every dollar we can raise is a dollar closer to a cure, and this weekend, we enabled researchers to take 19,000 more steps in that direction." 20140906_100442"Cancer has hit our family hard, and fighting back against the disease is a cause very close to our hearts," said tournament co-coordinator Kristina Drexler. "With our fourth annual charity golf tournament now in the books, we're shifting gears to our second annual Curing Cancer Charity Cast-Off fishing tournament, which will be held at Camp Mack River Resort in Lake Wales on Feb. 21, 2015. We'd like to encourage anybody who wants to know more about our events to visit our website, www.davenportfightsback.com and find out how you can help us fight back against cancer one dollar at a time!" There is a cure right around the corner because of people and events like this. (Photos & Press Release Credit – Kim Scheffler) https://www.DavenportFightsBack.com

Horsepower…Boys…Enough Said

When over 350 Horsepower rattles through the air, the boys will come. Last month, the boys at the Anchor House Ministries got a surprise visit from local 16 year old racecar driver, Dylan Martin. He stopped by to show them the race truck he drives. The boys were beyond excited to see and hear it up close. But even better than that was a surprise Dylan had for them. He had reached out to Auburndale Speedway track director, Rex Guy and had gotten all the boys tickets to go watch him race. Now they would get a chance to watch Dylan’s #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck in action!

“The boys of Anchor House were blessed with being able to see Dylan Martin and his race truck.  Bringing a race truck out to the house got everyone’s attention. There just is something fascinating to boys (and even to an executive director) about fast cars and roaring engines. In short is was a great summer day-gathering around a fast car and dreaming about one day driving one,” stated Dr. Joe Davis, Executive Director.

Thirteen of the boys got the opportunity to go to the track and watch Dylan wheel his truck on August 30th. William and Andy said they liked it a lot and had an awesome time watching Dylan race. One of the other boys, Forrest stated he would love to come again and watch Dylan. All the boys had a good time and for most of them it was a first time experience. Dylan is going to do everything he can to make sure they are back for the September 27th race too.

Not The Finish The #7 Was Looking For

The summer heat tried to bring in some rain but Dylan was just not going to have it. It was an important night for him, not just because he was racing at his home track but some very special people were going to be there. Jayden, an 8 year old that Dylan has become very close to was going to be experiencing his first ever race. Dylan is helping raise money for a service dog for Jayden. Jessica, Jayden’s mother said he has been excited all week about coming to Auburndale Speedway and watching his favorite driver race. Then to make even more exciting a group of boys from the Anchor House Ministries would be in the grandstands cheering Dylan on. He had made an appearance a few weeks ago with his #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck at the Anchor House. Dylan got a chance to meet the boys and talk to them about his racing career and the importance of education. Practice was not as good as what crew chief, Chad Pierce wanted. So after some spring changes and some other adjustments (can’t tell you because it is highly confidential….lol) the truck was good. That was obvious when Dylan took to the track for qualifying. He drove that truck off into turn 1 deep and it stuck. It went through the corners like it was on a rail. When the score board showed his lap time of 14.692, the crew was excited. He sat on the pole until the number #41 went out. He sat fast time with a 14.659. Dylan would have to settle for qualifying 2nd. The race series inverted the top 5 for the 50 Lap Race. This put Dylan starting 4th, second row outside. When Dylan came off the track from qualifying, he had to go over the scales. He was satisfied with his qualifying time but a bit frustrated that the last couple races he had been only tenths or even hundredths from getting the pole. But as soon as he pulled his truck into his pit stall, he was all smiles. How could he not be with Jayden standing there grinning from ear to ear. He was so thrilled to be able to watch “his Dylan” on the race track. To Jayden, Dylan was the fastest truck out there. At 8:15pm, 12 Pro Trucks took the field. Jayden was in the stands cheering for Dylan before the green flag even dropped. In fact, he was sporting a new Dylan Martin Racing T-shirt he was given and even had Dylan’s race number written in the palm of his hand. He was just as eager for the race to start as Dylan was. With Jayden sitting on the edge of his seat and Dylan taking one last tug on his belts, the green flag dropped. The #25 starting outside pole got a good jump on the leader. This put Dylan on the outside of the #64 battling for second position. It only took a couple laps of that #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck to get around the #64 using that high groove. Lap 4, the first caution flag fell for track conditions. The field was red flagged on the back stretch while track officials looked the track and trucks over. Dylan would be starting outside the leader. He heard his spotter say, “One to go buddy, one to go. Now get ready….go go go”. He ran the outside line a couple laps but couldn’t do anything with it so he dropped in behind the leader. Running a 14.88 second lap on lap 6 of the race proved he was pushing his truck to catch the leader. Caution flag on lap 11 for the #5 truck. It was in the wall in turn 1 and 2. While the field was getting lined back up, the crew chief, Chad asked Dylan, “Can you put your foot into it hard?” Dylan quickly replied, “ Yes I can in turn 1 and 2 but not as much in turn 3 and 4”. Chad told him to double up and get ready for the restart. The #7 got a great start but unfortunately while he was trying to pass the leader on the outside, the #41 was able to get under him to take 2nd from him. The third caution drops. Dylan would be starting 3rd. As the flagman drops the green, Dylan is tight on the leader’s rear bumper and the #41 tries to run the outside line to hold 2nd. He can’t and as he falls back Dylan is right there in his #7 to take back second position from him. It is apparent that the tires are hot as Dylan’s times slow down to around 14.96. By lap 23, the #41 has caught back up to Dylan and is all over his rear bumper. Dylan keeping his focus in front of him as he laps the #8 truck on lap 27. The next lap the #41 over drives his truck into turn 3 and uses Dylan to slow him down. He hits Dylan and sends his truck sideways. But Dylan is up on the wheel… he’s got this… he gets his truck back under control. One lap later, the #41 is able to get under the #7 going down the back stretch and the #59 follows. Dylan is now running 4th. As the yellow flag waves a couple laps later for the #59 truck that has spun going into turn 1. Dylan was trying to make a move to the inside on #59 when he hit the truck and it spun. Normally in this series, all trucks involved with bringing the caution flag out go to the rear. Unless the truck causing the incident man’s up and says it was my fault. He does this by tapping on his roof, which then he would go to the rear alone for causing the caution. This is exactly what Dylan did, he tapped out. The #7 would be starting 9th. On lap 32, the field goes green but doesn’t even make it a lap before the yellow flies again for debris (off the #10 truck) on the back stretch. It is a complete restart for the field. Dylan lines back up in 8th place as the #51 truck falls in behind him. Within a couple laps, Dylan takes 7th place over. He is now all over the rear bumper of the #31 truck. He is working him hard. The #31 is running all over the track which makes it difficult for Dylan to get around him. But by lap 41, Dylan is able to get under him coming out of turn 2. Dylan is now in 6th. As he is trying to run down the lead pack, the #64 and #50 get tangled up and both spin on the front stretch. Both of these trucks go to the rear putting Dylan in 4th. Getting ready for the restart, Chad tells Dylan, “this is going to get rough in front of you so be ready”. The green drops and Dylan starting on the outside gets really loose through turn 1 and 2, so when he comes out of turn 2 he tags the wall. The caution then comes out for the #51 who spun in turn 3 and 4. Dylan is still running 4th. Lap 49, he restarts 4th. The #7 gets a great restart, he is tight to the rear bumper of the truck in front of him. He isn’t giving any room. As he works that outside groove hard, the checker flag drops. The #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck will finish 4th. Not the finish the truck and Dylan were capable of but that my folks is racing. Jayden and his family spent some time with Dylan in the pits after the race. In fact, Jayden even got to sit behind the wheel and see what it is like to be in a race truck. Still grinning and excited from the race, Jayden was already talking about the next race. Dylan shook his hand and told him that he would see him on September 27th for the next race at Auburndale Speedway. A few of the 13 boys that came to the race from Anchor House had this to say. Dylan’s next race will be at Desoto Speedway on September 13th. He is currently 5th in Points for the season (he missed the first two races) and is still looking for his first win of the season. Over 100 Pounds of Soda Tabs Collected

There are no small deeds when it comes to giving back. Who would think that tearing off the tabs to a soda can could help change a child’s life. Well, it does. Thanks to Jason McMillan of 110 Nation Sports Radio out of Charlotte, NC who collected over 66 pounds of them. Also we appreciate the large amount of tabs that Jerry Cole and Jennifer Lamothe turned in. Their small deeds added up to well over 100 pounds of smiles for the children of the Tampa Shriner Hospital. The tabs will be turned in and the money is then used to buy things for the children when they come to visit. On more information on how these tabs become gifts for the children go to www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org and look for the tab on Tabs For Kids. Just to give you an idea of about how many tabs Dylan turned in, it takes 1,400 tabs to make a pound. So with everyone’s help approximately 154,000 soda tabs were turned in. Way to go everyone! That was just the beginning to Dylan’s visit. He first dropped off the collection of tabs. Lola was there in the lobby to greet him. Her beautiful smile was all the thanks Dylan needed. He then made his way through the rest of the lobby where he greeted patients. They received hero cards, coloring books and a new sticker of Dylan’s Pro Truck (compliments of Terry from Sticky Stuff in Lakeland). Jamie Santillo, Public Relations Specialist, then took Dylan to visit the kids in out patient. There he met Joy, a 16 year old out of Tallahassee. Her name suited her perfectly. She was a very bright and cheerful young lady. This is how all the kids are at the hospital, they are all so joyful and friendly. This is truly where Dylan goes for inspiration. After Jamie took Dylan downstairs to visit the children in therapy and inpatient, she presented him with a very special certificate. Jamie quoted, “It is very evident that Dylan’s commitment to Shriners Hospitals for Children® - Tampa continues to grow, as does his donation of can tabs. It was remarkable to see him donating over 100lbs of can tabs collected for our mission today. As a token of our appreciation we wanted to give Dylan a framed certificate as a reminder of how much his support means to our patients, families, leadership, staff, volunteers and Shriners. He is someone our patients look up to and always look forward to his visits!” Dylan will be starting the next Soda Tab contest on August 25th and it will end October 25th. The winner will get 4 tickets to the Joey Coulter Charity 200 Race Weekend in December and a new Dylan Martin Crew hat. So keep collecting those soda tabs!!! Race 8 Rolls On

Not something seen every day driving through a 55 and over subdivision, but that is what was catching the stares this past Saturday morning as the #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck race trailer pulled up to one special house. Dylan’s great grandmother, Granny Max was waiting at her doorstep with a smile. She has been to sick to make it to one of Dylan’s races this year, so Dylan did the next best thing, he brought his race truck and crew to her. After a group picture, Granny Max pointed her finger at Dylan and told him, “Now you go and win.” Coming off a bad last race, this is exactly the encouragement he needed. He would be racing for more than just a checker flag that night, he was racing for his Granny! After changing a flat tire on the race trailer, the DMR crew rolled into Citrus County Speedway. It didn’t matter that the temperatures were out of this world, the humidity was crazy thick, this team unloaded with a renown spirit and mission. The first practice session wasn’t the greatest laps for Dylan, he complained that it was pushing hard. But after the crew chief, Chad Pierce did some fine tuning to it, it was fast. Dylan got out of the truck after the final practice with a smile. He was ready for qualifying. When the 10 pro trucks pull onto the track for qualifying, it was sunny and 94 degrees outside with the humidity at 70%. Definitely hot and sticky. Dylan laid down a 15.00 second lap, this was quick for the conditions of the track surface. He was on pole until the #59 truck went out and beat him with a 14.97 second lap. That is less than a blink of an eye. The field would then be inverted 5 positions. This put Dylan starting outside the second row (4th spot). That was fine, Dylan was wearing his new custom designed firesuit from K1 Racewear and he had his Granny riding with him in spirit. This young driver was ready! At 9:07pm, the pro truck drivers waved to the crowd as they took some warm up laps before their 50 lap race. The next lap the flagman shook the rolled up white flag, it was one to go. Chad, the crew chief told Dylan, “One to go buddy, be ready, be ready, go go go!” Dylan got a good start he ran side by side for a couple laps and then dropped in behind the 3rd place truck for 4th. Lap 3, the first caution of the night came out for debris on the track. Restarting the field, Dylan was still in 4th. One lap later the #64 truck gets spun in the middle of turn 1 & 2 to bring out Caution 2. The #41 and #64 are sent to the rear. This puts Dylan restarting 2nd. Here is his chance. The field gets the one to go, Dylan grips the wheel and he is side by side with the #25 truck at the start/finish line. The #7 Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck of Dylan’s is driving like it is on rails. He runs the outside groove like a champ. The next lap still side by side with the #25 Dylan leads his first lap of the night by a fender length. It takes two more laps of Dylan’s skillful driving to get around him to take the lead on lap 8. Lap 11, Chad says, “You are pulling away Dylan, just stay smooth, great job”. He has quite a few truck lengths on second place as he battles with the 3rd place truck for position. Then lap 17, brings out the yellow flag. The #50 truck spins coming out of turn 4. At that time Dylan had over four truck lengths on the second place truck #59 (pole winner). The field lines back up for the restart. Dylan is on the pole, he will be leading the trucks to the green flag. The green flag drops and the #59 is able to get to the inside of Dylan coming out of turn 4. That doesn’t stop Dylan for fighting back for the position. He runs side by side, door to door with the #59 truck but Dylan pulls the lead only by inches as they cross the start/finish line on lap 18. The crowd is on their feet, they are screaming for their track favorite…Go Dylan! Two laps later Dylan is still running that outside groove hard. They are battling for position fender to fender. After two more laps of wheeling his truck on the outside, the tires start to go away and he drops into second spot. Now lap 22, Dylan lets the tires cool back down and puts about two truck lengths between him and the leader. He then starts picking back up the pace and catching the #59. By lap 35, he is less than a truck length from the leader. He is running 15.65 second laps as the leader is clocking at 15.82. He is on the move until the Caution flag drops on lap 38. As the field lines back up for the restart, Chad tells Dylan, “you are starting outside pole, you have been running awesome up top all night, you got this”. Dylan sees the caution lights go out on the track, signaling one to go, he take a deep breath, drops his visor one last time, and nails the throttle. He runs side by side for a lap and then drops into 2nd. He is all over the rear bumper of the #59. He is just waiting for the mistake. His times are the same if not hundredths faster than the leader. He tries making his move just as the yellow flag drops again for the 5th time. The #9 truck stops on the front stretch. It will be a green-white-checker once they go back green. He starts outside pole again. There is some confusion with the caution laps, back flagman doesn’t give the one to go but the flagman drops the green. Dylan is nearly two truck lengths back. It should have brought out another caution flag for a complete restart but it doesn’t. Dylan jumps back on the outside, where he has dominated all night. He runs the leader down in one lap. As the white flag waves, Dylan dives up under the leader coming out of turn 2, he is pushing his truck hard. He can’t quite make it there to hold the position going into turn 3. Crossing the finish line, Dylan in his #7 Fellows Trucking Group Curing Cancer Charity Challenge Pro Truck is 2nd. Chad said, “You only needed one more lap, and it would have been a different finish, great job buddy”. There is no doubt that everyone in the stands were witness to a great race. Dylan never once let the outside groove intimidate him. He drove it like a veteran. But the right front tire certainly told the tale as Dylan drove his truck into tech after the race with it flat. He left nothing on the table, he used everything he and the truck had. Job well done by him and the DMR crew. After the truck passed postrace inspection, Dylan did what he always does and went over to see the fans in the grandstands. He has by far come a track favorite there. As soon as he starts walking up and down throughout the stands, the fans congratulate him on a great run and ask for hero cards and even to have their picture taken with him. Young and old, they all love their Dylan Martin! Dylan’s next race will be at Auburndale Speedway on August 30th. Please come watch him run his hometown track. Also, Dylan is currently 6th in Points for the season (he missed the first two races) and is still looking for his first win of the season. Tough Weekend

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kevin’s family, Tony Stewart and everyone affected by this tragedy.
