Welcome to our team...

Dylan and the entire crew at Dylan Martin Racing want to thank Lakeland Manager Ryan Carmody, Holly Smith, Florida Field Marketing Coordinator and all the folks at Buffalo Wild Wings for joining our team. When Dylan hits the asphalt on August 17th at Citrus County Speedway, he will be sporting the Buffalo Wild Wings logo. He will also be passing out coupons to some of their local locations.

Holly made this announcement last week, “Buffalo Wild Wings is pleased to sponsor Dylan Martin Racing. As an active member in the community, Dylan symbolizes our core philanthropic outlook in Lakeland & the surrounding communities. We are excited to see him grow both professionally and personally.”

Thanks Ryan and Holly for believing, we are racing to make a difference!

Bronson (rain out) 7/12/13

Well Mother Nature won again. Dylan and his crew showed up to conquer the fastest 1/4 mile track at Bronson Speedway once again. This FUPS race got canceled on May 11th due to rain and again ended up being called due to the liquid sunshine of Florida.

Dylan was able to get in some practice on Friday night though before Mother Nature showed up. His Blackwater Ford Raptor was quick right out of the trailer. Chad has definitely got the set up for this track down. Dylan's attempt at three wins in a row will just have to wait...again. The rescheduled date has not been released yet but will most likely be in the fall.

(Bowling) C.A.R.S. Racing for a Cause 7-20-13

How do racing and bowling help Alex, who is 4 years old and battling Leukemia? Well the answer is simple for the more than 80 people who showed up to bowl this past Saturday morning. Rick Bristol’s C.A.R.S. Racing for a Cause holds this event to kick off the fundraising for three very deserving kids. The money raised by this event go towards the grand total that is given out in December to three families at the 8th Annual Joey Coulter Charity 200 Race Weekend. Dylan Martin bowled with his team to help support this cause. His team didn’t get any awards for being the best bowlers there but more important to Dylan was making a difference. And this he did folks, not by bowling a ‘Turkey’ but by bringing in the most money. Dylan and his team raised $1500. Did you hear me, I said $1500, isn’t that just awesome.

So there were a few strikes, splits and even some gutter balls but in the end everyone had a great time and a lot of smiles were raised for three very special kids. " We so appreciate the support of so many great folks to come and bowl and give to help the children and families dealing with terminal illness. The Dylan Martin crew were a help in a great way as together the team combined for $1500 to help with the cause. I am blessed to have many great friends like the Martins, along with Kim Scheffler, Chad Pierce and others on the team. 83 Bowlers joined to raise funds to help these families in their fights. Thanks to all and may God Bless each of them for giving" stated organizer Rick Bristol. SPECIAL THANKS from Dylan Martin Racing to : Futurecare Learning Center in Auburndale; Garrett’s Medical Supply in Winter Haven; Clayton Homes of Lakeland; Reiter Electric in Auburndale; Ted’s Repair Service in Winter Haven; Alfred White Sr.; Warehouse Flooring; Dr. Cano; Victor Shumate; Toni Dorsey; Nancy Buchanan & Blackwater Integration.

Space Cottage Grand Re-Opening

GE

When a NASA Astronaut, Storm Troopers and R2D2 show up for a Grand Re-Opening of the Space Cottage in the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village, kids will appear. It was a wonderful turn out for this spectacular event. Jon McBride who became an astronaut in 1979 and was the lead pilot on the maiden voyage of Columbia, spoke to the crowd about his experiences. Dylan was amazed to hear that he traveled around the earth in 90 minutes and at top speed goes 5 miles per heart beat. Dylan just smiled and said, “that is a bit faster than what I go”.

The first kid to stay in the new Space Cottage will be Dylan (pictured in far top left picture with Dylan Martin). They both got a laugh when they were introduced to each other as Dylan meet Dylan. The other Dylan flew in late last night with his mother from Las Vegas to spend the weekend visiting the Disney Parks. He is very excited about sleeping in the bed that is shaped like the Columbia that Astronaut McBride flew. Go to www.DylanMartinRacing.com for more pictures.

Dylan Wins Two in a Row

6.15.13 NSS Truck 1

As the dark clouds rolled in, Dylan thought his chance to race at the high-banked ½ mile track at New Smyrna would have to wait. But Mother Nature was on his side. At 6:30pm, Dylan pulled his Blackwater #7 onto the front stretch for the Autograph Session. It doesn’t take but a minute to figure out why Dylan is always a track favorite. His charming smile and great appreciation to the fans draws the crowd to his truck every time.

It is 81 degrees out, a few clouds still lingering and Dylan’s mom is watching anxiously in the grandstands. The Blackwater Ford is starting outside pole. As they come out of turn 4 side by side, the green flag drops. Dylan drives the truck deep into turn 1 to give him the edge coming out of turn 2. But just then the first caution flag flies. It will be a complete restart. This time it takes Dylan a complete lap to gain the lead. No time to rejoice quite yet, because a lap later the 2nd caution comes out. Dylan has the option as the leader to choose to restart on the inside or out.

6.15.13 NSS Dylan in Car

The truck is tight so the decision to start on the outside is made. The pace truck drops off and by turn 1, Dylan has the lead again. He runs a good solid line and keeps driving it hard into each corner. By lap 9, he has a 4 truck length lead on second place. “It is all Dylan Martin, folks”, the track announcer says.

Lap 11, caution out. The truck still pushing, Dylan opts for the outside again to restart. They are side by side as they cross the start/finish line. 1 lap later, Dylan has his #7 Ford Raptor out front again. Every lap as his truck dives off into the turn, the crowd can hear that rev-limiter just a chattering away. But crew chief, Chad Pierce, doesn’t let Dylan just ride, he tells him “keep digging”. By lap 18 Dylan has a 5 truck lead. As the white flag waves for 1 lap to go, Chad radios, “bring it home”!

6.15.13 NSS Team Victory Lane

Dylan pulls the Blackwater #7 into victory circle for the second time this season. Yes, folks, Dylan has just won on the fastest ½ mile track in Florida. As the track announcer congratulates him on his win, the crowd can’t see anything but a smile. Dylan says, “This one is for you Dad, Happy Father’s Day”. He then thanks the fans, his crew and sponsors for believing in his vision. He will continue to race to make a difference!

Everyone at Dylan Martin Racing want to wish all the Dad’s a very Happy Father’s Day!

IMG_0053 - Copy

According to our friends at Performance Distributors, their Pro Truck sponsored driver, 16-year old Dylan Martin enjoyed his first win of the Florida United Promoter Series, Pro Truck season.

Dylan and his crew were coming off of two-top 10 finishes at Auburndale Speedway in March and April. With the Performance Distributors’ line of H.E.I. distributors, called the “D.U.I. – Davis Unified Ignition onboard, the crew felt good about the way the truck was performing in practice. Arriving at the Citrus County Speedway on May 17, Dylan and the crew were still pleased with the #7 Performance Distributor’s Ford Raptor’s performance.
